ST. LOUIS, MO (May 21, 2020) – T-REX, the Downtown St. Louis non-profit technology innovation center, today announced an $80,000 donation from Seiler Instrument, a St. Louis contract manufacturing firm specializing in precision machining within the manufacturing, geospatial, medical, and planetarium industries. The Seiler Instrument donation is dedicated to the Geospatial Innovation Center at T-REX, which is set to open this spring.

The donation will fund the geospatial interactive showcase and program development at the new Geospatial Innovation Center at T-REX, which is an innovation hub for the geospatial industry and a collaborator with and potential talent pool for the new National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s (NGA) western headquarters being constructed just 1.6 miles north of T-REX.

“We are thrilled to be supporting T-REX with this donation and contribute to the incredible geospatial renaissance occurring here in St. Louis,” said Tom Seiler, Seiler Instrument Executive Vice President. “The geospatial industry will drive thousands of new jobs over the next decade, and our region has a great opportunity to capitalize on that through T-REX, the NGA, and additional initiatives taking place.”

Seiler Instrument’s donation aligns the company with numerous key players in the geospatial industry, including Bayer, which awarded T-REX a $500,000 grant to support the Geospatial Innovation Center’s creation, as well as Deloitte. By making this commitment to T-REX, Seiler Instrument will continue to cement its legacy both within St. Louis and the geospatial industry.

“The T-REX team is so thankful to have supporters like Seiler Instrument as we approach the opening of the Geospatial Innovation Center,” said Mark Tatgenhorst, program director at the Geospatial Innovation Center at T-REX. “It is so great to see St. Louis capitalize on this opportunity within the geospatial industry, and T-REX is proud to be a leader in programming, education, and offering resources to the many companies that are flocking to St. Louis to get involved.”
