Geosaurus Unleashed is back on Wed, Sept 9! Hear Kyle Olson, Lecturer at WashU’s Department of Anthropology, present: “Story Maps: Spatial Narratives in Pedagogy, Public Scholarship and Beyond.”

In this talk, hear Kyle present the current aspects of his research, publication, and teaching practice as they relate to ESRI Story Maps. Increasingly ubiquitous across digital media platforms, Story Maps are potentially powerful tools for communicating about a wide range of geographic and cultural phenomena; the challenge facing us in making best use of Story Maps is how to transcend the “illustrated essay” paradigm that has characterized much of their initial uptake and move toward a unique and effective form of spatial storytelling.
